I was working long hours. I would regularly find myself in the office late into the evening. I wouldn’t eat all day and was fueling myself with strong coffee. My stress levels were through the roof. Stress causes the body to puduce excess cortisol, a hormone that regulates our fight or flight response. Too much cortisol can lead to anxiety, mood changes, insomnia, weight gain, and other problems. And that is exactly what happened to me. I put on weight. I couldn’t sleep. I was anxious and moody. I decided I need to do something about it. And that’s how I became interested in nutrition!
